Che Guevara Route

Three day tour to Vallegrande and La Higuera, where combats were held between the bolivian army and the guerrilla led by Ernesto Che Guevara

Description

Day 1. Santa Cruz - Samaipata - Vallegrande

Departure from Santa Cruz to Samaipata, a two-and-a-half hour trip with a view of great sub-Andean beauty, arriving at the El Fuerte Ruins, the largest example of pre-Hispanic rock architecture in South America.  Arrival at Samaipata, registration at the hotel.  Visit to a museum and departure to Vallegrande. Day 2. La Higuera

Departure to "La Higuera in three-hour trip, observing diverses pictures of towns such us Guadalupe, La Cruz and Pucará, that contains the undeniable magic of not been alteret by men. At arrival in the town (110 inhabitants) the group will visit the School of the Community where the day of October 9, 1967, El Ché was executed, also the Communal Museum will be visited. After lunch is carried out a walk to "La Quebrada del Churo or Yuro" (2 Km.), where the previous day of his death was hurt and captured.

Overnight in Vallegrande. (BLD) 

DAY 3. Vallegrande - Santa Cruz

Visit the airport where been found de rest of “El Ché”, also visit to the historical monuments, the museum and the places of more influence of “El Che” such as the house of Laundry, where the body remained until his funeral. Return to Santa Cruz. (BL)
