  • Rainy season: (November to April) Roads might be in bad shape. Salar de Uyuni may be flooded. Therefore, access to Incahuasi Island and Pucara de Ayque might be difficult or impossible. The program might change due to these reasons.
  • As roads to the Uyuni Region are not paved we will use 4×4 cars, each one with a maximum of 4 passengers.
  • Museums in La Paz, Sucre & Potosi are closed on Saturdays and Sundays in the afternoon also all day on Mondays and festivities.
  • To and from Ecolodge La Estancia requires a walk of an hour and a half.

Day 1. Transfer from the airport and City Tour Santa Cruz

  • We will welcome you at the airport to start this amazing adventure!

Day 2. Santa Cruz, San Javier, Concepción

  • Today you will cross Chiquitanía, passing through Rio Grande and San Ramón to the Jesuit Mission of San Javier. It is a beautiful colonial city with a historic church, declared Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO.
  • Traveling through savannas and forests you will reach the city of Concepción; the largest missionary center, which offers amazing views of the Jesuit church. This is a true jewel of the 18th century.
  • This visit will be complemented by the missionary museum where the original scores of Renaissance Baroque music are still preserved.
  • Overnight at “Gran Hotel Concepción” where dinner will be served.

Day 3. Concepción, Santa Cruz

  • After breakfast, you will enjoy walking around the beautiful city of Concepcion, including a visit to the largest repair shop, where restoration work on the Jesuit Missions and the local museum are carried out.
  • Overnight at Senses Hotel where dinner will be served.

Day 4. Santa Cruz, Sucre and City Tour

  • After breakfast, you will be picked up and taken to the airport to take a flight to Sucre.
  • You will visit the amazing “Casa de la Libertad, where the Act of Independence of Bolivia was signed in 1825.
  • Our next stop will be at the famous Bolivar Park, where you will be able to see examples of the aristocratic tradition in Sucre, small replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.
  • Then, you will visit the church, the museum of La Recoleta and the Museum of Indian Textiles ASUR
  • Overnight at “Hostal de Su Merced”

Day 5. Candelaria

  • Departure early in the morning to the southeast of Sucre to the indigenous community of La Candelaria, passing through Tarabuco. If this day is a Sunday, you will also visit the famous indigenous market of Tarabuco. If not, you will have a short stop in this town.
  • Then travel to Candelaria where you will visit the Hacienda and see how they work on the famous “Tarabuco” textiles.
  • After enjoying a tasty traditional lunch, you will return to Sucre.
  • Overnight at “Hostal de Su Merced”

Day 6. Sucre, Potosí and City Tour

  • Today you will take a picturesque 3-hour road trip through the Pilcomayo River and observe the Maple Bridge; a suspension bridge used in the past.
  • From here you will pass to the high plateau at 4,060 m / 13,320 feet and you will arrive at the famous colonial mining city of Potosí.
  • Then you will visit Potosí, which will be like time travelling because of the traditional colonial streets, the artisan market, the famous Mint, the church of San Francisco and the facade of the church of San Lorenzo, which has one of the best examples of stone carvings in baroque-mestizo style.
  • Overnight at Patrimonio Hotel.

Day 7. Cerro Rico Mine and Uyuni Salt Flats

  • The Mine excursion is unique because it allows you to have an unforgettable experience… hundreds of meters underground! You will be able to witness the working conditions of Bolivian miners, taking in consideration that mining plays a very important role in the Bolivian Economy.
  • From Potosí to Uyuni you will pass through the branches of the Andes Mountains with many colors, erosion and cacti. You will pass through the famous Pulacayo mine.
  • The trip will end in the town of Uyuni (3 to 4 hours), which has grown over the years due to the amount of tourism in the Uyuni Salt Flats and the region.
  • Overnight at Jardines de Uyuni Hotel where dinner will be served.

Day 8. Uyuni Salt Flats, Incahuasi Island and Colchani

  • Our journey throughout the biggest salt flats in the world starts with a visit to a small town called Colchani, where you will be able to observe how locals produce salt.
  • Afterwards, be prepared to be amazed by the landscapes offered by the biggest salt flats in the world, with more than 10.582 km2 of salt, at 3.692 m.a.s.l / 12.113 feet! You will cross this immense white sea until you reach Isla Incahuasi (also known as Fish island), famous for its giant cacti and volcanic rock formations.
  • Continue towards the north, where you will visit the pre-Columbian fortress of Pucara de Ayque and the nearby “chullpares”, both on the slopes of the Tunupa volcano.
  • Then, back to Colchani. You will be able to admire the sunset and dinner will be served at “Palacio de Sal” hotel, where you will be spending the night.
  • Includes: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and lodging.

Day 9. Uyuni, La Paz, Tiwanaku Ruins and Cable Car Ride

  • Our journey throughout the biggest salt flats in the world starts with a visit to a small town called Colchani, where you will be able to observe how locals produce salt.

Day 10. City Tour and Folkloric Show

  • This city tour will take you through the street markets that are rich in crafts, textiles and witchcraft items, followed by a visit to the colonial part of the city: San Francisco Church, Gold Museum and Plaza Murillo.
  • Then, descending to the most modern part of southern La Paz, you will visit Moon Valley.
  • Free afternoon to explore the City.
  • At night we Will take you to a “Peña” to have dinner and enjoy a folkloric show. Here you will see hand-woven garments, traditional dance steps that are accompanied by music with handmade instruments such as zampoñas (bamboo flutes) and charangos (small guitars made with the frame of an armadillo). The whole show presents a part of the Andean and tropical cultures in Bolivia. It will be an unforgettable night of entertainment.
  • Overnight at La Casona Hotel.
  • Transfers form the hotel to the restaurant and back, as well as the entrance fee and dinner are already included in the price.

Day 11. La Paz, Copacabana (Sun Island) and La Estancia Ecolodge

  • Your day will begin with a private transfer from La Paz to Copacabana; a small and pleasant town on the shores of Lake Titicaca. During this 3½ hour road trip you will get to enjoy the best views of the highest lake in the world!
  • Upon your arrival in Copacabana, apart from visiting this charming town, you will visit its church and its famous Morena Virgin.
  • From here you will go to Isla del Sol. This boat ride will take about 1 hour before reaching Puerto Huacani, where you will have a typical lunch called Aptapi and also enjoy the magnificent scenery.
  • Your day will end with a final hike to Ecolodge La Estancia (approximately 1 hour and a half), where dinner will be served, and you will have the best views of the sunset.

  • This morning will start early as you won’t want to miss the sunrise! It is a magnificent sight.
  • After breakfast, you will be ready to start a trek (30 minutes) through Yumani, visiting the Inca steps and the Fountain of Eternal Youth.
  • Then, you will take a boat trip to the north visiting the famous ruins of Chincana and the Sacred Rock.
  • The tour will continue to Isla de la Luna (Moon island) and the Inca ruins of Iñak Uyu (1 hour).
  • By the end of the afternoon return to Copacabana by boat and then we will take you back to La Paz (3 hours and a half).
  • Overnight at La Casona hotel.
