The subtropical area of Los Yungas is a region characterised by its exuberant vegetation, its many rivers, waterfalls leading to the Amazon basin and its diverse tropical flowers and faunas. It is considered one of the country’s richest eco-regions providing a huge variety of crops such as; coffee, corn, banana, citrus and coca leaves.

Senda Verde Wildlife Sanctuary (Full Day)
- From La Paz you will travel to “Los Yungas”. Along the 2 hours road trip you can enjoy the views as they offer a great opportunity for contact with Nature. You will stop at “La Cumbre”, summit at a height of 4,650 meters above sea level (15,255 feet). You will go through snow-capped mountains with impressive glaciers and then a beautiful descent to Yolosa at 1,150 m.a.s.l. (3,772 feet” arriving at the entrance of the Amazon rainforest.
- Senda Verde is a unique Wildlife Refuge. This project began in 2003 as a typical ecotourism lodge; but shortly after 2004 the founders began to rescue the first animals; a capuchin monkey and two parrots. Currently, Senda Verde has become the safe haven for more than 450 animals including various types of monkeys, birds, two Andean bears, turtles and snakes.
